Ordering Information -- Terms of Sale and Website Use
After finding coins you wish to purchase, please click on the "ORDER" button under the price. You can also send an email to info@coinvault.com with a description of the coins you wish to order.

We will confirm your order and send you a total with shipping costs. Our business is now mainly internet-based, please send us email rather than calling by phone.

By ordering or using our website, you agree to the terms of sale/use (this page).

Payment information for US customers:
Your personal check is preferred, but we certainly accept cash, money orders, and bank checks. Please made checks out to "Clark Smith." We do not use credit card payments and do not use paypal. We will wait up to 10 days for checks to clear our bank. For immediate shipping, please send us a bank wire (we will provide our bank details). International wire transfers may incur a $20 incoming funds bank fee.

There is sales tax for California residents of 8.75% on orders under $1,500.

Payments for bullion and bullion-related valued coins must be post marked by the next post office business day, or your order can be cancelled.

Bullion or bullion-related orders on Friday must be post marked Friday or Saturday, or your order can be cancelled.

Payment information for International customers:
We accept bank checks and money orders in US dollars, but they must be payable at a US bank. We do accept traveler's checks in US dollars. For large amounts, we do accept wire transfers. You can also use Western Union or Moneygram. For smaller amounts you can mail us cash in US dollars.

If you are ordering from Japan, we accept Japanese yen by domestic Japanese transfer.
Insurance is not included nor are we responsible for lost items sent internationally.

US Customer shipping methods:
We use the US post office for most shipments and all shipments are insured. If the coin(s) are valued over $600, we may use registered/insured mail for extra security. If an item is lost, you agree to be compensated by the post office insurance or our private insurance company. If the post office or insurance company declines the claim, we will not refund your purchase price. The cost of airmail delivery is a base of $5 plus $1 for each $100 of value. Minimum shipping charge is $5. Please see the shipping schedule below:

Items lost in Shipping
Inside the USA: Insurance is included in shipping prices.

NOTE: Insurance will pay for lost packages but not for items missing from a delivered package. There is no insurance coverage for missing items from a box.

There is no insurance coverage for items sent internationally.

If an item is lost, you agree to help us claim the insurance money to refund your purchase. If the post office or insurance company does not pay the claim, we will not pay the claim to you. Please note that you agree to the terms of sale when placing an order or sending payment.

Other Terms and Conditions:
All coins have a lifetime guarantee on authenticity to the original purchaser with the following conditions. Items with authenticity issues must be labeled as 'Not Genuine' by an organization such as PCGS, ANACS, NGC, or an expert we recognize. Coins in certified holders are guaranteed to by that particular company doing certification and not by us. Coins labeled as 'Authenticity Unverifiable' are not considered to be 'Not Genuine' but labeled as such due to lack of information.

Coins removed from certified holders may NOT be returned for any reason including authenticity. Do not remove coins from certified holders if you wish to return them. We do NOT guarantee the authenticity of coins in certified holders, please refer to the certifying company guarantee which was paid for by the fee for certification for that reason.

Return policy: You can return coins purchased directly from our website for up to 7 days after purchase/receipt for any reason (except for items priced by, or near, bullion value, and except if you are a dealer or reseller of coins). Near bullion value would be 15% or less premium to gold value. Any term or condition may change without notice. You agree to these terms when placing an order.

Delivery dates, either promised or not, can be missed due to postal delays or international customs delays beyond our control. We are not responsible for customs duties, fees, or delay.

Layaway Plan
We are happy to do layaways on more expensive, non-bullion items. The terms are flexible based on your needs. Please contact us about starting a layaway. All layaways have a 10% restocking fee if the deal is cancelled or items returned.

We will hold or reserve coins for you. But please note that if payment is not received in 1 week, the order may be cancelled or prices changed. Please email us if payment is delayed to avoid this situation.
